Does anyone whose organisation maintains a register of Potentially Violent
People write and notify them of the complaint and that they are going to be
added ?
The Guidance issued by the OIC states that this should be done, but what
about the implications to the officer that was threatened - especially if
it is along the lines of 'I know where you live and I'll sort you and your
family out' ?
Would the Health & Safety Act over-rule the DP Act ? There is a duty of the
employer to protect his staff, and notifying a PVP may make them even more
violent towards that officer. In fact, the officer may feel even more
threatened by making an official complaint knowing that the PVP will be
informed he has done so.
Has anyone any comments on this, please.
