Doreen, you said: (see below)
I disagree totally, for two reasons.
1) The statement you make shows absolutely WHY even the FACT of sickness is
sensitive data. You are making an assumption about people who object, now,
which is one that no-one has any right to make
2) When I am out of the office it is between me and my manager to know the
reason. I have the right to absolute privacy without question from any and
all of my colleagues, and I choose to use that right.
A wallchart such as this can be used to harass colleagues. "I see
Spillikins is off again, must be his time of the month" (note I have made
the comment non gender specific, but somehow all the more unpleasant for
that). "Ah, Jones was off sick for ALL the world cup matches" (Actually
Jones had a series of unpleasant tests for cancer and has no interest in
football, but now has to justify self to colleagues). "Are you pregnant,
MISS Smith?"
I am not attacking you personally, you just had the bad luck to say the
thing that shows, to me, how sensitive even non specific sickness data is.
