Having had to refer to Statutory instrument 417/2000 today my interest was
caught by the exemptions from the subject information provisions enabled by
section 8, for legitimate political activities by those Registered Political
Parties.
Trying to identify what sensitive personal data would require an exemption
to be processed in that context, in what way, and what for, lead to a quick
look at the web sites for five UK parties, only one had a privacy policy
which was noticeable, and I could not find mention of, or link to, any Code
of Practice which might provide any information regarding sensitive personal
data useage in that organisational sector.
Does anybody know of where a data protection Code of Practice for political
parties might be found?
