A friend of mine works for a PR agency. The account she is working on wants
to distribute a whole lot of CD's to schools on home safety with a quiz
included.
In turn the schools will encourage the pupils to do the quiz. If the pupil
scores full marks they are given a code word. If they e-mail the code word
to a company which is acting as a data processor for the PR agency, they
stand to win a prize.
At the end of each month, 5 of the e-mail addresses are selected and sent
back to the pupil to notify them they have won a prize.
All e-mail addresses are then destroyed.
Now for the questions:-
Does anyone see a problem with the above as far as the DP Act is concerned?
If so what and how can it be solved?
Are schools prohibited from distributing this CD if they know that the
e-mail addresses of the pupils will be identified and possibly thier ID.?
Are there any other acts which could come into play?
Many thanks
Jason
