OK, let's see if we can get a baseline.
If the only purpose for which I intend to use my cameras is for
prevention/detection of crime, then I don't have abide by the ‘fair
processing information’ bit in the first principle. Section 29 says so.
If my cameras are there for multiple purposes e.g. prevention/detection
of crime and coincidently traffic congestion monitoring, then would I
have to have signage?
If the answer is yes, then it does rather obfuscate the point of section
29. Point the camera out to the 'crim' so he/she can avoid it!
Effective prevention/detection of crime would now require the data
controller to install a separate CCTV system for the different schemes.
