Dear mailbase,
The things you get asked by clients!
"We have a deaf patient coming in for a consultation at the beginning
of March. [private medical company] have rung to say that under the
Data Protection Act
for Disabled People, disabled people do not incur charges & they was
ringing to check that we would pay for the interpreter. This has me
completely stumped, I have not received any guidance on this can you
help or give me any advice. Thanks"
OK - there is no Data Protection Act 1998 for Disabled People that I am
aware of, but the issue of who pays for an interpreter may be covered
under some other Disability legislation. Could the accumulated wisdom
of the List help here. Please!
