All,
A friend has asked me for some advice on the attached
Suppose a data subject were to make a SAR based on a bad experience that
they
have had with a company. Said company refuse to give information
stating
that they do not have to comply unless it is in relation to 'criminal
procedings which may or may not be being taken' Friend states DPA to
company
who say 'oh thats not relevant to us, it only affects governments' Friend
tries to explain to girl on phone that it is relevant, finally she sends him
some information after faxed letter etc.
Info arrives, friend goes through it and notes that information which has
been
sent to him by company is missing various things, such as letters sent by
comp
any to him, plus the screen prints have blatently been changed by someone
(who
is not very good with tipp-exx!!!)
When friend rang company again, company explained that he should not have
rece
ived info and could he return it.
I have told friend to complain to OIC but she has asked for more advice
first.
Any sugestions??
