Is anybody aware if any research has been conducted/published referencing
the level of workplace monitoring against an organisations competencies and
the environmental threats? e.g. The more vulnerable an organisation or its
management feel (real or not), the greater the acceptable organisational
investment for workplace monitoring, and then relating that to
overcentralisation and the growth/decline cycle.
I am aware of some published works covering privacy/DP in the workplace
environment, but currently have a specific interested in anything which
relates to the causal factors in increasing monitoring. Potentially some
historical academic management case studies may include passing references
to these types of factors, those would be useful, but a specific focus, as
above, would be better.
These would be for inclusion within some work, but will not form the main
basis.
