I asked our Head of Exams Department and he keeps scripts for 2 years,
although when other professional colleagues were discussing this recently
the norm seemed to be 3 years. All suffer from storage problems.
The reasoning for 2 years is based on the 3rd Principle and the likely-hood
that anyone wishing to raise a query on their exam script will do so within
a short period following the exam not more than 2 years following. He would
be interested in other interpretations however.

Can anyone advise on the following?
One of our departments has asked for advice on the retention period for
examination scripts as they are facing problems with storage space.
Current University procedures follow the JISC guidelines and exam
scripts are stored for a minimum of 6 years. Has anyone else dealt with
similar queries?
Many thanks
