Stuart has asked me to post this for him since he is having difficulties.
It seems he and I share a common attribute (eg this list) which makes out
addresses public on the archive pages, and thus it is likely that our list
is a potential source of the scammer's email file (but not certain).
BTW, Sally, it is easy to trawl through the archive pages with an email
search engine to extract all email addresses. It is mechanised rather than
laborious, and such software is in the public domain

Tim,
Please can you post this on the list for me.
Dear all,
I received the email today about giving my bank details to them. I spoke to
our security epartment who have informed me that Scotland Yard and the
National
Crime Intellegence Squad have a special desk set up at Scotland Yard to deal
with this. Our own security department are passing on any details like this
email direct to this desk as a matter of course, and are advising others to
do
the same.
Regards
Stuart
