The load that a person can carry whist carrying out their work is
governed by health and safety. I went to check on our board (as it has
been posted there for a while) but the code has been removed - this
suggests that it was so little that the secretaries were exceeding the
amount when moving boxes of paper. Guess that somebody will be able to
point you to the required code, it comes under the office and railway
workers bit.

Does any have any guidance on book-carrying that they could
share? ie what it is reasonable for a support worker to carry around
for a disabled student.
Has anyone else encountered problems in this area? we currently
have problems with a demanding student and the amount they
expect to be carried for them.
