'TRAINING THE TRAINERS' (MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS): SOME PLACES STILL AVAILABLE
ON TRAINING SESSIONS:
There are still some places available on the four remaining regional training
sessions being held as part of the HEFCE funded Lancaster University Student
Mental Health Project. These sessions are offered free of charge (including
refreshments). If, having read the information below, you feel that you would
benefit from this training session and would like to book, please do so as soon
as possible, especially for the forthcoming sessions in Birmingham on 20
February 2002 and for Cambridge (26 March 2002).
'TRAINING THE TRAINERS' (MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS)
* What is the aim of the training? It is a one day session designed to
enable participants to facilitate the training of staff in their own
institutions in basic mental health awareness. This 'training the trainers'
can be a cost and time efficient way to disseminate basic mental health
awareness training as widely as possible.
* Whom is the training for? Any member of staff who may be in a position
to deliver some basic mental health awareness training to others in their own
institution. It assumes that participants will have some general awareness of
mental health issues themselves, but feel that they may benefit from some ideas
and discussion as to how they might deliver initial training to others on the
basic issues.
* What about the costs? The training sessions are offered free of charge
including lunch and refreshments.
* Where and when? Training sessions are being held on a regional basis
up to June 2002. Sessions are scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.
People are welcome to attend the session at whatever location is most
convenient to them, although places will be limited so early booking is advised
(and no later than 2 weeks before your chosen session). The dates and
locations of forthcoming sessions are as follows:

26 March 2002: CAMBRIDGE
