apologies for similarities to Davids recent message.
A colleague is looking for a method of recording various types of dialog,
workshops, interviews conferences speakers et al, and then getting this
material transcribed in to text without having to manually do the typing as
she has some RSI.
What methods would people recommend, is a digital recording system such as
mini disk better than analogue cassette, are there any solid state voice
recorders which allow exporting of stored data to PC &/or other media.
once the recording is made what's the best way to get it transcribed
particularly considering she works in a pretty noisey office environment. is
it as basic as playing the recording outloud infront of a microphone using
Dragon or similar or is it possible to have such applications record direct
from a WAV file or other format eitehr with or without playing it through
the system speakers, or is simply running a lead from the speaker socket to
the mike input the only way of doing this.
finally can anyone recomend models of recorders of any type also quoting
prices.
thanks
