Thanks Mick
Now for the next part:
The same student has great difficulty remembering sequences during
practicals (She's an NVQ2 Beauty therapist). I'm tussling with several
issues:
whether to ask lecturers/exam board if can use cue sheets during
assessed practicals (this could prove fruitless - especially if
remembering the correct sequence is a 'must do' assessment criterion).
I'd like to work with the student and her support tutor to develop some
sort of mnemonic strategies to help her through these practicals. When
I asked her to describe one of the tasks she undertakes, she 'went
through the motions' in a virtual (hands-on) fashion. She obviously
remembers more effectively using this sort of 'kinesthetic' role play.
I wonder if anyone has encountered any memory programmes that capitalise
on this.
I may contact some ABI organisations for further advice if necessary.
Regards
Peter Hill
