Colleagues,
the DfEE is in the process of producing guidance on work placements for
students with disabilities. It would be helpful to include some examples of
good practice from HEIs, particularly in the following areas:
- positive promotion of work placements;
- placement development and adjustments made for students with disabilities;
- preparation for work placement for student and provider;
- support for students and placement providers;
- agreements between colleges and placement providers covering any
additional support arangements;
- evaluation of placement experience.
Examples would need to be about 1 paragraph in length. The deadline for
examples to be sent to me (by email if possible) is 30 May; as the DfEE is
hoping to have the final guidance ready by the end of JUne.
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Amalia Holman
