DEPARTMENT OF STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES
The University has recently integrated its well-established
services for disabled and dyslexic students to form the
Disabilities and Dyslexia Service. We now wish to recruit
specialist staff to support students with dyslexia and specific
learning difficulties.
DYSLEXIA COORDINATOR (full time)
£28,374 - £32,886 per annum inclusive
The Dyslexia Coordinator will coordinate services and support
for students with dyslexia and other specific learning
difficulties and will be involved in developing policies,
facilities and services for these students. You will work
closely with the Manager of the Disabilities and Dyslexia
Service and will have supervisory responsibility for the
other dyslexia specialist staff in the service. The
postholder will also be responsible for delivering an
established postgraduate course to train dyslexia tutors
for HE.
Educated to degree level, you will have relevant
specialist qualifications and will have a minimum of
three years experience of working with dyslexic adults,
preferably in an HE context. You will have experience
of service delivery and staff supervision as well as a
wide and up-to-date knowledge of learning theories and
strategies for this group of students. REF SS500
DYSLEXIA TUTOR (full time, term time only)
£24,597 - £28,374 per annum inclusive pro rata
The Dyslexia Tutor will provide specialist support and
tuition to students with dyslexia and other specific
learning difficulties. This will include pre-diagnostic
assessment, needs assessment and specialist learning and
study skills support. You will also teach on an established
postgraduate course to train dyslexia tutors for HE.
Educated to degree level, you will also have relevant specialist
qualifications and will have a minimum of one years experience
of working with dyslexic adults, preferably in an HE context.
You will have a wide and up-to-date knowledge of learning
theories and strategies for this group of students.
