Hi
A student starting a course in September is blind and is a
wheelchair user. Although she is likely to be fairly independent in
most respects, she has a real fear of falling in the shower and
being unable summon help.
If we were to install a 'panic button', there is no guarantee that
there would always be someone (female) on campus able to go to
her aid (esp at night and at weekends).
I have contacted a local agency who provide alarms for the
elderly, but I'm told that their system (an alarm worn on the wrist)
will not work in a wet environment anyway.
Does anyone have any suggestions about how the student could
best summon help from off campus?
Thanks in anticipation
