Perhaps if the insurance angle doesn't bear fruit some investment in direct
security (paid for through DSA) might be advisable. e.g. some security wires
and locks. Then, even with the room left open, the equipment cannot be
casually carried away. (We've done this for one of our students in long stay
hospital.)
