A number of Victorian universities in Australia put together material from a
project which determined the learning support needs of students with mental
health conditions. Outcomes of the study are in a publication called, "A Hidden
Disability-University Students with Mental Health Conditions".There is also a
publication, McLean P. and Andrews J. Mental Health Issues on campus (NCVER,
1999). I think the booklets may still be available from Pat McLean (Manager
Equity & Learning Programs), [log in to unmask] at Melbourne
University.
There is also a information kit produced by TIPD (Teritary Initiatives for
People with a Disability-Queensland universities cooperative) called,
"Succeeding with a psychiatric disability in the university environment."
Although TIPD is no longer operating, there could still be some copies floating
around at Queensland University of Technology. Contact person there is Kathy
Newley email: [log in to unmask]
These might be good starting points.

Subject: Mental health policies and procedures
I am writing from the Oxford Student Mental Health Network which is a
three year HEFCE-funded action research project focusing on student
mental health issues in Oxford.
As part of the Project, we will be considering a review of the policies
and procedures within our partner institutions and considering their
implications for students with mental health problems.
I was therefore hoping to gain some examples of any mental health
policies (or disability policies which cover mental health issues) which
have been drawn up within other institutions, e.g. admissions policies,
roles and responsibilities of staff, confidentiality etc.
I would be very grateful for any information which anybody can provide.
