Perhaps the issue is not a dyslexia assessment but an assessment of the
difficulties the student experiences with language skills.
If you are concerned about providing support from the DSA a dyslexia
assessment may not be necessaruy or appropriate. Many deaf students
experience difficulties with the use of written language probably arising
from the impact of their hearing loss on their experience of language
teaching. Most LEAs are willing to accept an assessment of the student's
difficulties with language as justification of a need for additional support
without the label of dyslexia.
I hope this is helpful.

I'mlooking for an appropriate agency to refer a post grad student to. The
student uses BSL as her preferred language, but used lipreading as a
child/young person.
Any info on adapted/modified assessment tools would also be useful for
future reference.
