Note taker Training - September 2001
Access Summit, Joint Universities Disability Resource Centre, is recruiting
note takers for students with disabilities in the four universities of
Manchester and Salford.
Good, clear handwriting, an ability to write at speed and record accurately
the spoken word essential. Degree or relevant experience / qualifications
preferred.
Weekly hours vary depending upon student timetables and requirements.
Hourly rate of pay between approximately £5 and £9
Applicants must be :
- Graduates / Post-Graduates only
- Able to offer a minimum of one academic year’s work
- Committed to a minimum of 9 hours notetaking per week
- The rate of pay is approximately £9.00 per hour for qualified notetakers
on our Register
If you are interested you will need to attend our briefing session where we
will explain the way the Register works and initially assess your English
and notetaking skills such as speed, legibility and clarity. Successful
applicants will then participate in four half-day sessions of a professional
note taking course and on successful completion of this will be included in
our Notetakers' Register.
