Hi Karine
I was doing a presentation for the DPLOs in my Council and this issue was
raised and unfortunately, I had the same response as yourself but
ultimately, I pointed out that it was the law. I know this is not very
helpful and understand the issues the officers may have with this but it
could be that this is a person who is not normally violent - may be going
through a stressful time and lashes out then if it was me I would like to
know that even although I was put on the system at least I would be happy to
know that this could be reviewed, amended or deleted after a period of time.
I presume that currently anything which has been on there for a few years
may in fact stay there forever more which may in fact be a breach of the Act
in itself as the information may not be accurate.
I think there are going to be lots of probs with this one.
