Bradford Council Policy Co-ordinator - E Government £29,847 - £33,384 per
annum Post reference: CS 535
You will lead, develop and coordinate the implementation of our E Government
Strategy across the District. The rote involves policy formulation and
advice and providing leadership and strategic direction to this vital new
initiative. In addition, you will foster and develop partnerships with other
agencies and help secure external funding for developments. Your role will
also involve promoting and enhancing the achievement of the "connected
district" whilst making links to other policies for example; customer
relations, service delivery, equality, community planning.
This post requires considerable experience in a policy development role
rather than technical skills/expertise. Knowledge of E Government
requirements and their implications for the local government service is
essential along with experience of project management and implementation
skills. You should be educated to degree level (or equivalent) or have the
required level of knowledge and experience in this specific area coupled
with evidence of considerable self development. You must also have an
excellent understanding of the issues of implementing E Government coupled
with evidence of political and organisational awareness.
A confident and flexible individual, you will be an enthusiast who is
capable of working collaboratively as well as taking a high profile
leadership role. You should also have the intellect to grasp complex issues
and information involved coupled with the judgement to steer and guide the
organisation through a major change programme. You must have the personal
credibility to influence others and the ability to communicate and present
information effectively in a variety of formats. If you feel you have the
