Can any of you H.E. folk help me on these two issues?
(i) I am trawling for ideas for a standard University-wide DP Policy that will
be issued to all staff and will inform policy when it comes to processing of
staff and student data. This is partly for internal purposes, but also for the
Lancaster DP project. I have my own ideas on what needs to be in such a policy,
but it would be useful if anyone could provide me with examples that are
already used in practice.
Is anyone willing to send me a copy of their policy or direct me to somewhere
on their website where the full policy is shown? Thanks.
(ii) I am collecting examples of good practice regarding security of paper and
other non-electronic records (eg clear desk policies, restrictions on public
access to space, use of fine-grade shredders etc). I'd be grateful for any
suggestions you can provide - off-list to me, please! Anything you've
implemented which has helped improve security would be good. If you have a
written policy, all the better, I'll happily plagiarise these things with your
permission. I'm hoping to include Security as one of the themed guidelines
coming from the Lancaster project.
Many thanks.
