Food for thought:-
Initially a client walked into the Housing Office stating they were being physically assaulted by their partner and wanted re-housing.
The client was referred to the Council's 'Domestic Violence' unit by the clients Housing Office.
Need I say there was a breakdown of communications between the Housing Office and the Client. The Domestic Violence Unit tried on several occasions to sort this communication breakdown out and have sent e-mails and memos to the Housing Office requesting immediate answers and remedies to the clients housing situation.
The clients solicitor has made a subject access request, although it is the intentions of the Dom Violence unit to give copies of the clients file to the solicitor, it is clear that complaints and possibly claims for compensation will be made against the Housing Office.
In Summary:
One dept within the Council is going to get another dept within the Council into some very hot water.
Am I alone on this one, or are other Local Authority's experiencing these same issues.
