The email you received is typical of many junk emails. I don't think the
technology is at the level of being able to have an automated process to
recognise who is a person from a random picture. Most likely it is a
coincidence that you had your picture captured by them and then you receive
the email.
Your email address will exist in many different databases. Further, what is
the DNS address of your computer? Could your browser be leaving a
coppenheim.xxxx.lboro.ac.uk wherever you go on the net?
I mean 10-30 spam messages per week ought to be seen as trivial :-)
Of course under DP they should not be storing any of your personal details
without your consent. You could try and throw a big hammer at them or just
press the delete button.
By the way most of the stuff they sell seems appropriate for peeping toms.
