I'm sure you sometimes do this just to cause bother.
I did NOT say that "if they mark their emails 'Personal' they will not be
read in any circumstance" I said if the employer said they would allow
personal AND private e-mails on the system the private ones should be kept
private.
To inform an employee that there is no such thing as a private e-mail would
be technically correct, even in pedantic terms, but to emphasise that privacy
could not be expected in a work environment actually makes good sense.
