Prior to joining the authority there was just 1 SAR now however I find that
I am currently dealing with 3 at once! The point is that I can from a very
different environment to the Council and as such I don't know most of the
abbreviations or codes used, trust me reading such code filled entries is
impossible without guidance. The key I think is that the Data Subject FULLY
understands the contents of their disclosure.

This was my first ever SAR but the person requesting the data is an IT
specialist and knows exactly what the codes are as he probably designed the
forms.
I take your point though - does that mean that I should be explaining all
codes on any SARs.
