Been speaking to the Notification Section at the Commissioners Office about
charitable and voluntary bodies today.
They have some new additional guidance in this area about to be published.
Will not immediately be posted on their INTERNET site, but they will be
posting copies to interested parties. Give them your address.
Thought that the voluntary body had personally been talking to would have to
notify. Reason for that notification was the very sensitive data they would
be processing, including data about the persons they were obtaining
information from, and the rest of their family, some of whom
potentially/probably would not know of the data collection. Am not quite so
sure now. Will await the new guidance and see but suspect notification in
these particular circumstances may still be required.
