I have a moan every few months with the ODPC (now OIC from January 30) about
their lack of knowledge about the differences between Scots and UK
legislation. They have recognised the problem and hopefully the jump from
100 to 300 staff will provide some scope for improvement. The first draft of
the Scottish FOI bill is due in few months for comment. The Scottish
Executive advice for Social Services is stuck with their legal section
although I've managed to obtain the draft published in the middle of last
year for comments. Keep an eye on www.scotland.gov.uk for developments.
