I believe we will be getting an Information Commissioner but as in England I
think they should have a dual purpose to include Data Protection as well.
As I have said on previous occasions, Scottish Law differs in many ways to
England and Wales especially in relation to Social Work (Social Services in
England & Wales) and Education. The ODPC cannot advise on the
interpretation of the Education/Social Work part for Scotland - that is not
part of their remit. I am still awaiting documentation from the Scottish
Office re. Social Work.
