Ahhh, I shall give myself as food to the legal eagles on the list (plainly I
shall be lynched for saying it.)

Ehmmm, if it was processing under way you could claim transitional relief but
for new processing you had to comply, ie. say what you were going to do with
the data.

I asked a similar question about data from before 1998 and generally data
obtained via various means and various times. My understanding is that
you don't have to contact subjects individually, but you must tell them when
you contact them where they can find out what information you hold about them
and that they can ask to have it deleted. (No SARs are necessary under the
circumstances).
Or something like that :-)
