Hi All
Have spoken to Rob at the OIC on another query and just happened to ask him
about the IT Week article.
Seriously, he said if they had served an eforcement notice on an
organisation and they still had not complied with whatever action they
should have taken - then they would take further action. As he stated,
organisations such as L.As or Universities are trying to comply with the law
so any enforcement notice served upon us - then we would take action as we
don't want to be in the press.
He also said that it would be a big mistake for organisations to take the
view that they were not going to prosecute and rightly so. Perhaps the
article chose the bits it wanted to hear?
