Paula
I have recently had the same issue raised at my Council, my advice was that
this ntype of information amounted to personal data and as such if consent
from the data subjects could be sought this could continue. The issue
remains unresolved at the moment.

Subject: Should I be speaking to you?
Query,
Mainly Local Authority members
Would you agree to let councillors have full access to a staff electronic
address book, holding e-mail address, tel nos, location, job titles etc, so
that they are able to contact staff direct?
Any views on the implications here, do others allow councillors to contact
any member of staff they wanted directly, if so do you have a
policy/guideline for staff?. How is this handled
also bear in mind that many councillors may access this address book
remotely from home or laptop.
Comments and suggestion greatly received.
