Vehicle registered numbers have been recognised as being personal data under
the terms of the act.

There would not normally be any exemption that could be claimed as subject
access would not prejudice the purpose. Be aware of the potential automatic
decision processes you would need to be informed about.

Take on the data controller. The cameras should be signed in such a way to
meet the fair obtaining principle. If the government were the data
controller they still have to comply.
