Mr Hudson
I write concerning your message of Tuesday 16-Oct-2001, where you wrote:

Perhaps if you had made numerous helpful contributions to this mailing list
over several years, and thereby built up a reputation as an expert in data
protection issues (which is what this list is all about), then members of
the list would be interested in hearing about your training courses,
publications and consultancy services?
As it is, you posted a message suggesting that we visit http://www.visto.com
to 'Find out how companies are linking mobile users to the enterprise with
Visto.'
OK, so I visited the visto.com site. And I had a look around. And the more I
looked, the more I wondered what the relationship was between a
Californian-based company whose vision seems to be to 'provide those users
with "anywhere, anytime" access to personal and corporate information and
enterprise applications.' and the typical role and responsibilities of a
Data Protection Officer working in the United Kingdom.
But, before consigning you and the Visto Corporation to our spam list, I'll
give you the benefit of the doubt for a second time. Please email me
directly, saying exactly how your product and services can help us better
comply with the provisions of the Data Protection Act.
