This is a personal problem that has been dragging on a several months
and I would like to seek your expert advice please.
Scenario:-
I subscribe to a book club who require I purchase 4 books per annum
however after a short period I find I do not like their aggressive way of
business of sending unsolicited books even though I have not ordered any
thing at all. I have asked to be removed from the mailing list because I
don't find their method of business something I can put with. They tell
me they won't remove me from the mailing list because I haven't yet bought
4 books in my first year. I claim that I have as a couple of times I
bought two for the price of one, a free one thrown in etc. and I can
see 9 books in total from this company on my book shelf.
What are my Data Protection rights about being removed from the mailing list?
The Membership Guides says
'your commitment is to buy 4 books during the 1st year of membership
and may come from any of the offers sent to you' so am I right in thinking
because I didn't pay full price for them this constitutes a purchase
regardless?
Please reply to me directly [log in to unmask] if you can ofefr me some advice
Thanks
Sally Justice.
p.s. never ever again, books, csd, videos, dvds you name it and I don't
want to subscribe to it!
