Does anyone have any thoughts or experiences of dealing with Council Tax
queries (or similar)- over the telephone? When someone rings with a query
and it needs to be sorted quickly, but we can only do that by giving out
information relating to their "account" ( arrears information) how can we
be sure we are complying with the DPA whilst at the Same time responding to
a query - one which is a regular occurance? We often have individuals
acting "on behalf of " what checks can we put in place to protect the
rights of the individual, without becomming an inflexible, unapproachable
service?
