No, I'm saying that if I'm the employee in footage shot on internal CCTV
devices in our offices, if a visitor wants the footage, why do I not have
the right to have my image fuzzed out? The subject could be a whacko.

The point remains that in a wide area coverage camera there is a point at
which indivduals are not recognisable if a certain distance away, e.g. a
car park, unless a manual operator is zooming and centering on them.
Likewise, retaining digital copies puts certain limits on what can be
achieved. Surely any recording can be submitted in a court of law, but
the weight of evidence will depend on the picture quality and the processes
the footage has been through.

Agreed. I'm just not convinced that all footage can identify all
indivuduals present with even the most expensive cameras.

I would imagine most campus installations are dual purpose for crime
prevention and health and safety.
