Hi,
Many HEI institutions will be faced with a particular problem towards the
end of the year (for those who know about the RAE, it may ring a bell).
Let us say:
A. A number of SELECTED Surnames (linked to HEIs) will be published on the
internet. The publication will be done with the consent of the individuals.
No DP issue. ( ;-) that will be the day when anyone gives express consent).
B. In a DP compliant manner many HEIs publish lists of their staff either at
a corporate level or at deparmtental school level. Assume this list of staff
is complete.
C. A person in list (B) does not exist in list (A). Therefore an interested
party could draw certain NEGATIVE inferences about this person (the
inferences would relate to academic or job performance).
Is there a DP issue at point C.
TIA.
Charles
