Selling Physics - a physics communication day
Saturday 7 April 2001
Stewart's Melville College, Queensferry Road, Edinburgh
Organised by the Institute of Physics in Scotland and the Institute's Public Affairs team
How do the media treat science stories?
What do the public think of physics?
What questions will journalists ask about your science?
How do you run a successful science event?
Discover how to communicate physics effectively to all sorts of audiences at Selling Physics, a physics communication day organised by the Institute of Physics in Scotland and the Institute's Public Affairs team.
JOURNALISTS and PROFESSIONAL SCIENCE COMMUNICATORS will help YOU to learn the tricks of the trade.
Hear advice and pick up useful tips on how you can best raise an awareness of physics and get accurate information to the media; get involved in discussions about physics and the media; meet other people involved in physics communication.
The day will end with a drinks reception followed by the
Institute of Physics in Scotland's Marie Curie lecture - 'The Same Old Story: What Superconductivity can tell us about Elementary Particles'- given by Professor Peter Higgs FRS CPhys HonFInstP.
SELLING PHYSICS IS OPEN TO ANYONE INTERESTED IN COMMUNICATING PHYSICS AND SCIENCE
The registration fee for the day is 10 pounds which includes coffee, lunch, tea, a drinks reception and the Marie Curie lecture.
