sciBAr
Science in the media - can you believe it?
Scientists are great at shooting the messenger. It is never their fault when
the media make overblown claims about new results. Journalists are also
perfect. They are never guilty of dumbing down, or of climbing on
bandwagons. It isn't their fault that most coverage is
terminally trivial and ignores vast swathes of science and technology. Mike
Kenward OBE distinguished science writer and former editor of New Scientist
will lead an informal discussion on science and the media over a pint of
beer, glass of wine or cappuccino at the sciBAr organised by the BA. The
sciBAr is open to anyone, there are no invitations and the evening is free
except for what you spend on drink or food. Air your views or just listen
to others, it's your regular pub debate just on a larger scale.
