I was recently made aware by a student that disabled users (both
staff and student) are not exempt from University car parking fees,
even if they are an orange badge holder, which means they have
to pay over £100 per year to park in Uni car parks, or park on the
street and face having their car broken in to.
Furthermore, there are no allocated spaces for disabled users and
they are not given priority in terms of being able to jump the queue.
I would be very interested to find out if other Universities have the
same policy or whether there are any exemptions for disabled
students.
Thanks in advance.
