Err (removes chewing gum) I do actually agree with Peter. I have been quite
impressed with the superficial success when I get students to try Dragon
'wretched mission software' running on my laptop in an assessment.
Unfortunately it can create an impression of infallibility. But you do get
brought up short pretty quickly if you don't check the text carefully
yourself. Just don't tell the students to rely on textHELP! to check it Peter!

Off the point a bit - but I've noticed that latest versions of VR (Dragon)
seem
to be far more tolerant of variations in voice types (unless, like Mick
Trott,
you forget to remove your chewing gum first!). I've had students try the
software with my voice profile - achieving high levels of recognition
accuracy.
I suspect that in the near future, voice enrolment may no longer be required.
