If memory serves me correctly, this is the company that published a
somewhat misleading advert on their website last year, promising a free
computer for every dyslexic student. The following is taken verbatim from
their latest mailshot to me:
"As you are probably well aware, disabled/dyslexic students may receive
poor value for money when using their DSA to purchase a computer system
from a recommended or specialised supplier. The systems sold may be well
overpriced and of a low and dated specification. Often these systems can
be obtained cheaper through a high street retailer, even though the LEA
may be under the impression that they are receiving preferential rates.
The student may then seek an alternative supplier than the one
recommended, in the search for better value. This can cause delays and
complications for all parties including the student."
OK, fess up - which one of you lot has been ripping us off! I'm off to
Dixons :)
