We are having difficulty with this. The compliance advice from the
Commissioner suggests that she will not be sympathetic to completely
open-ended requests in respect of e-mail and we are going down the route of
asking individuals making subject access requests to provide us with extra
info in respect of email to search for what they want rather than conduct
searches of entire systems. Staff and students should also be aware that
email containing personal data are subject to the s.access provisions .
