Dear Marie
When I saw your e-mail on dis-forum I initially assumed that you were talking
about a cycle seat with the mention of a saddle. Having visited the Bambach
saddle site on the web I see it is something quite different. I still feel, however,
that I may be able to help with a suggestion.
I agree with Terry Hart who sent you an e-mail via dis-forum about the need
for a thorough assessment. I am myself disabled and my means of transport is
a pedal tricycle, hence my interest. I actually got it free on permanent loan
from the DSS and I had to undergo an assessment of my needs at the local
"Artificial Limb and Appliance Centre" housed in a local hospital. I was
initially referred there many years ago by my GP. I recently got a new tricycle
from them (I have now had a succession of 3 or 4) and had a thorough
assessment including a trial on a tricycle. They actually deal with all kinds of
appliances and so I think your local centre might be worth trying They might
already have experience of these seats. Even if they cannot after all help it
would only be the cost of a local call. Although I am sure they would indeed
be able to say over the phone whether they can help in principle, as I say I
think you would need to get a referral to them from your GP. Their address
and phone no. with a contact are:-
