Regarding pre-lingualy deaf students - I have a problem which is a
bit of a chicken and egg enigma. A profoundly p.l. deaf applicant
who is coming from F.E. wants to do an Access Course to gain
entrance to an M.A. course. To enable the prospective student to
study effectively he needs the proper support, both technological
and a human note-taker. Access course students are not eligible
for disabled students allowance. The prospective student could not
buy the support for himself.
Without the support he will not be able to do the course. Stalemate.
I am exploring other avenues of funding on his behalf. This problem
must have presented itself before? I would welcome any suggestions.
