Hi
I don't know how wise-spread the practice is yet, but iANSYST provide a
declaration form for dyslexic students, which qualifies them for VAT
exemption on the grounds that they have a recognised disability. This can
easily save £200 - £300 per quotation. [nb the VAT exemption applies to some
items, such as computers, but not to monitors. However, iMacs count as
computers so they now look like very good value.]
This VAT exemption that iANSYST have negotiated with Custom & Excise should,
in principle, apply to the equiping of Assistive Technology rooms.
Peter has already provided a web address for iANSYST. Their freephone
number is 0800 018 00 45
