Regarding your advert for a reader/guide for a student: here at
Dundee this is always undertaken in conjunction with the student
concerned - it is better for the student to meet their reader/guide
before any decisions are made(in case the reader has a strong
"foreign" accent i.e. from Somerset, Wales etc..)
A sample advert would be as follows:-
" Non-medical helper required for visually impaired first year
undergraduate in the Arts'n' S.Science Faculty. Pay £4 per hour
hours by negotiation. In the first instance please apply to Di Shaw
Disability Support Centre ... by [give date] and contact details.
If the V.I. student wanted me to sit in on the interviews I would oblige.
Is that any use?
Regards - Di
